Mayfield Studio day (part 2)

Another day at the wonderful Mayfield Studio. First up is the incredible Rita. I first shot her about 18 months ago as a new model, and she was very good from the off. She hasn’t modeled for about a year and you wouldn’t have guessed. She was fantastic! I can’t wait to shoot with her again.
Alice is a little bit special. We have been working together regularly over the last year for a book that will be out very soon(by the end of October I hope) where you will be to see all the great work we have been doing over the last 12 months. Yesterday set was a lot of fun. (Pity the TV didn’t work).

Claire is brand new to modeling. This was her first ever shoot. She was very nervous, but I do see potential. I think once she has learned to relax she will do well. Must have been very daunting to be in a studio with 2 other photographers and about 7 or 8 other models for your very first shoot!

Last but not least we come to Alice J and Sophie. Best friends and both as mad as a box of frogs(especially Sophie!) Both great fun to be around and once they get the confidence they need they will both be great. They have a great attitude and are willing to learn. Watch this space!

Image published.

If you’re in the North East you may well read the Sunday Sun. Today one of my images is on the front and full size on page 3.  While I am very happy that my image of Katrina Darling is featured,  it’s incredibly annoying that they didn’t credit me.  I only agreed to it being published on the condition my copyright was printed.  I shall be following this up.

Sophie-Grid.

Sophie is simply incredible(for more than a couple of reasons!) She was perfect for one of my grids.

Lilith-Lingerie.

As you may have noticed, I have been shooting with Lilith quite a lot of late, and I hope that continues for some time to come. She is great fun to shoot with and is stunningly pretty. She has a great attitude and has that rare quality of an, almost, sweet innocence and at the same time, raw sexuality.
I have a book coming out with Alice very shortly, but straight after I will be working on my second book, all featuring Lilith- and we have some fantastic ideas for that!

Abbey (part II) and Kat.

As you saw on Monday, Abbey was a first time model. I thought she did a great job, even though she was very nervous. Before her solo stuff we did some images of her and Katrina Darling together. Away from modeling they are best mates, and I think that shows in these images– very relaxed and a lot of fun.

On Friday there will be more from Kat on her own.

Here are a couple of Kat on her own that were, obviously done at the same time.

I still struggle a little in a studio setting but the one thing I love about Mayfield Studio  is the natural light it gives.  I love shooting in this corner where the light is beautiful.  Needles to say these images(and all the ones from Monday) are natural light only. Oh, and those spots? All from a disco ball!

Abbey.

I saw Abbey in a pub one night and just thought, ‘WOW She’s cool’. I was quite drunk and as she was with her fella, so I decided rather than go over myself, I would ask a friend to take over one of my cards and tell her why she was giving it to her.  She got in touch and we set up a shoot.  She had never modeled before and she was pretty nervous but she did a great job.  I really like these images.  She also did some images with Katrina Darling  which you will see later (as well as some awesome images of Katrina on her own).

If your a Tumblr user then Abbey has a very cool blog here.

Down on the farm.

Luke asked me a while ago if I could use a farm for any shoots. Of course I said, yes but its only now we have got around to doing it.  I’m working on a book with Alice  (which will be available before xmas) and today was the penultimate shoot for that,  plus we got some shots of Luke too.

Really pleased with the results. Shot with mostly ambient (inside and out)  and one Canon 550ex flash with a,  (now knackered :( )  shoot through umbrella.

Sophie-watch out-curves ahead!

Sorry for the corny title but I think its safe to say that Sophie has curves–and what curves!   She avoided shooting with me for a long time as she thought I would only want to shoot her naked  (I would love to-but she looks amazing dressed too)  and eventually her best friend Alice convinced her to. I am so glad she did. Sophie looks incredible and as this was only her second or third ever shoot, I can see a lot of potential.  I have shot her again since, and will be doing so again (maybe with less clothes?)  :)

We shot this set down Newcastle quayside, and it was a very bright day(as you can tell from the first(two) images). Lighting was mostly ambient with fill in from a 60cm softbox and Canon 580 ex II.

Sally at the Magnesia works.

I haven’t known Sally that long, but she has become one of my best friends.  She is a fantastic person and although never considers herself a model I think she rocks.  Big time!   She is a demon on a pole too.   You may remember her  cowgirl  set?

These were shot at the (in)famous  Magnesia works at Hartlepool.   I think just about every urbanX  and model photographer, in the North East has shot here at some point.

Along for the ride on the day was the rather awesome Mr Derk German, who, if your model I suggest add,and book him for a shoot.  His blog is called thetiedhasturned.

Im sure he wont mind me showing you a couple of  ‘behind the scenes’ shots from the day.

Big heels?

Got to shoot with the beautiful (and slightly mad) Laura Pandora again. We did some gorgeous natural light stuff and some fun ‘white wall’ stuff, and we got the chalk out too. I love the stuff these girls come up with!
